Pursuant to section 13 of the Ombudsman Act 1975, the Ombudsman may (among other things) investigate complaints about an administrative act, decision, recommendation or ommission of any university, polytechnic or other tertiary educational institution .  

 

The Ombudsmen may only issue recommendations to remendy a problem on the grounds that it is unreasonable, unfair, or wrong.
