The CPSA is looking for a new STUDENT PRESIDENT. Nominations are from 28th July until 8th August so BE QUICK. Have you got what it takes? Either ring us on 940 8900 or If you are interessted in helping your fellow students, this could be the job for you. The first thing you need to do is get an application form from the CPSA office. It is a full time position starting in January 2009. There is no job description as such so if you, or a friend would like more information please come and speak to the friendly staff at the CPSA reception. Either Emily, Raewyn, Tracey or Josh will be able to fill you in on the criteria and who is eligible to run.

The President is elected to represent students
The President governs, with the executive council, the business and the affairs of the Association.
The President provides leadership for the CPSA its members (the CPIT Student Community) the Executive, the Senate and CPSA staff.
Eligibility Criteria Christchurch Polytechnic Students’ Association Inc Constitution 17/01/2005 Please note that the condition that you had to attend 4 consecutive meetings of the exec before standing have been removed as of a motion at the Executive meeting (30th July 2008). This was is increase the possible candidates to stand. It is applicable to the president’s position only. The following form can be used as a template for Presidential, Vice presidential and Executive positions in the upcoming elections.
Candidate’s Declaration: Please detail any convictions you have for crimes of dishonesty or violence and or any outstanding charges for crimes relating to dishonesty or violence. Please state if you have been found bankrupt by any New Zealand Court of Law. Please give details of any affiliations that may be at risk of being in conflict with the business and nature of CPSA?
Candidate’s Statement: Please provide a personal profile outlining your interests, qualifications, affiliations, leadership strengths and values and beliefs that you would bring to the CPSA President’s/ Vice/ Exec position. (maximum 300 words) (Your statement will be published and posted on CPSA notice boards, on the website and in all promotional material pertaining to this election.)
